Ranger's Apprentice: The Royal Ranger
by John Flanagan
(SPOILER ALERT): I was disappointed that the author killed off one of my favorite characters, but I did enjoy the scene where Will Treaty sees justice served. I also am enjoying the development of the character of Maddie.

this book is a brilliant title with its fun and wacky characters and grate sense of humor. and despite the lack of color and simple drawing stile it has amazing in-depth characters. this in my opinion is just as good as its counter part odyssey by homer

by Lev Grossman
The first book was so spellbinding that I read the entire trilogy. The friendship that binds these young magicians is so powerful that you want to continue on their journey into the magical world.

Hansel & Gretel
by Rika Lesser
This was way too old for my young children - I skipped some things, and had to stress how awful it was the mother wanted to abandon her children. I get this was closer to the original tale, but someone gave this to us and I should have researched it first.
